Nestled between the lush mountains of Cala d'Hort and Cala Ses Truja is Païsses of Cala d'Hort, a rural town of Ibiza in antiquity. The origins of this historical site dating back to the V century and lasted until the seventh century. A team of archaeologists led by Carlos Roman Ferrer discovered the Punic necropolis in 1917, which today are visible ten tombs carved in rock. The truth is that the archaeological fieldwork conducted in Ses Païsses reconstructs the lifestyle of the Carthaginians, who lived in the settlement for centuries.

Its economy is based on the exploitation of agriculture and livestock, exported wine and oil, and other typically Mediterranean products, such as wheat, figs, almonds and pomegranates. After the invasions of the V century, the area was destroyed violently following the Vandal conquest, reoccupied in the sixth century and eventually occupied for the last time with the first Muslim raids in the early eighth century. HOW TO GET From Cala d'Hort, take the road that leads to Cala Vedella. One kilometer later, after a very pronounced torrent, you will find on the right a sign indicating the archaeological site
