ETNHOGRAPHIC MUSEUM OF IBIZA
The Ethnographic Museum of Ibiza is located in a beautiful 300-year-old country house, Can Ros, in Puig de Missa de Santa Eulalia. In it you can know the most significant aspects of life in the Pitiusas. In addition, you will discover the charm of this town, its people, its culture and the traditions that have marked its history.
In the Puig de Missa da Santa Eulària des Riu is Can Ros, an old country house enabled as a museum of local ethnography.
Can Ros is a good example of rural Ibizan architecture, with the "porxo" (main room), the kitchen, the different "sleeping cases" (rooms), the oil mill (oil mill), the "porxet" above ( balcony), the well and the cistern. Adapting to the demands of the space, a permanent exhibition has been arranged, sometimes in a scenographic way, if the room and the pieces allow it, and other times through showcases or various exhibitors.
This exhibition ranges from clothing and jewelry to a multitude of household objects used in the country houses, farm and office utensils or specific tasks, musical instruments, weapons and objects for personal use.
This permanent exhibition is completed by temporary exhibitions of a temporary nature, as well as the realization of Craft Workshops, an activity in which various traditional artisans show us the elaboration of musical instruments, clothing, espadrilles, toys and objects made with vegetable fibers . During the visit to Can Ros, you can request to watch some of the historical-ethnographic videos that make up the videographic background.
